Michael Robinson, LMFT
Therapy for Trauma
Whether it be a one-time event, or several events, trauma can seep into every crevice of your life to shape how you see yourself, how you show up in your relationships, and even define your day-to-day life.
My role is help you recover and reconnect with what matters most.
My approach involves providing you with a safe space to connect and process these experiences. I utilize evidence-based treatments like EMDR, Accelerated Resolution Therapy, and Exposure-based therapies to help you fully process these experiences. To ensure that our work is effective, I regularly monitor progress and make adjustments as needed.
Starting this work involves scheduling a time for a free, 20-minute phone call or Zoom meeting to talk and see if we might be a good match.

Because therapy involves a commitment to engaging in deep and difficult work, this is a very personal decision.
Maybe you're feeling stuck, are having a tougher time managing challenges in your life, or you're noticing that you're running into the same problematic patterns and, despite your best efforts, aren't making any progress. These are just some of things that can motivate someone to consider therapy.
The short answer is, it depends. Depending on the issue, therapy could be brief (5 - 10 sessions), several months, or a long-term process lasting several years.
Determining the length of treatment is done through our initial sessions by getting to know you, learning about your particular issue(s) and exploring your goal(s) for therapy.
