Therapy for Strong Emotions
Emotions are inevitable, but for some, they can feel overpowering. You've probably dealt with the judgment and stigma for having strong emotions or being considered emotionally sensitive.
My goal is to help you learn more about these emotions and respond more effectively to them to create lasting change.
My approach involves providing you with a safe, non-judgemental space to express these feelings, approach them with curiosity, and practice skills that allows you show up to your life in a way that aligns with your truest values. I utilize evidence-based treatments like Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Schema Therapy. To ensure that our work is effective, I regularly monitor progress and make adjustments as needed.
Starting this work involves scheduling a time for a free, 20-minute phone call or Zoom meeting to talk and see if we might be a good match.

Because therapy involves a commitment to engaging in deep and difficult work, this is a very personal decision.
Maybe you're feeling stuck, are having a tougher time managing challenges in your life, or you're noticing that you're running into the same problematic patterns and, despite your best efforts, aren't making any progress. These are just some of things that can motivate someone to consider therapy.
The short answer is, it depends. Depending on the issue, therapy could be brief (5 - 10 sessions), several months, or a long-term process lasting several years.
Determining the length of treatment is done through our initial sessions by getting to know you, learning about your particular issue(s) and exploring your goal(s) for therapy.
